The 1989 Purefoods Hotdogs season was the 2nd season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Key dates
- April 23: Coach Baby Dalupan tasted his first win as the Hotdogs mentor, in Purefoods' 125-121 win over Alaska.
- June 18: Opening game of the Fiesta All-Filipino Conference, Purefoods blasted Formula Shell, 137-122.
- July 18: Purefoods avenged their first round eliminations loss to San Miguel, by overpowering the beermen, 125-115, to tie San Miguel on top of the standings at 7-2.
- July 23: Hotdogs' win streak reach to 7, with a 117-106 win over Formula Shell, to close the eliminations on top at 9-win, 2-loss.
- October 3: Dexter Shouse scored 38 points, 21 in the first quarter alone, as Purefoods gave Grandslam-seeking San Miguel Beer its worst beating for their season, a 126-94 rout, Jerry Codinera made an all-time record 11 shot blocks.
